Facing couples step forward; each dancer grasps right hands with the person in front of him/her.
Passing shoulder to shoulder, dancers "pull by" and drop hands so that they are now back to back facing out of the square.
Partners touch left hands while the man puts his right hand on his partner's back and performs a "courtesy turn," in which the couple essentially pivots 180 degrees counterclockwise.
Dancers are back in the starting square formation, but the couples that executed the move have exchanged positions.
