Masterís degree in Music required; Ph.D. in Music preferred
College-level teaching experience beyond graduate internship required; community college teaching experience preferred
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student, faculty and staff population.
Strong Music performance skills, keyboard or voice, required.
Experience in curriculum development and student learning outcomes assessment.
Experience managing a Music or Performing Arts Program preferred.
Experience teaching music online a plus.
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Position Description:Full time music faculty member to teach music courses; develop new music courses and revise program curriculum to meet student transfer needs, interest and demand; and provide leadership to develop the Collegeís Music Program.

Specific Duties:
Teach music theory, musicianship, and applied music courses, including electronic music, for majors and non-majors
Develop new music courses and revise program curriculum to meet student transfer needs, interest and demand
Work with the appropriate faculty to identify and pursue opportunities for developing and growing the music program
Determine appropriate goals and objectives of music courses and develop course standards and outcomes
Develop instructional material consistent with course objectives
Assess student performance in the classroom using outcomes-based assessments.
Participate in on-going curriculum review, development and assessment of music courses
Actively support the teaching and learning process; create and support a student-centered environment in and beyond the classroom
Implement teaching practices designed to appeal to multiple learning styles
Promote the development of critical thinking skills through the teaching of music
Use new technologies in the classroom to supplement instruction
Participate in on-going professional development
Maintain expertise in area of teaching responsibility
Teach in learning communities
Engage students in community service
Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement

Salary Range: 44,000--55,000
