Position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

General Information:

The Music Department of Reed College seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor for a two-year appointment.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or a D.M.A. in choral conducting should be either in hand or near completion, and experience teaching and choral conducting on the college or university level is desirable.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include: conducting the college choral ensembles (a large chorus and a smaller, auditioned choir); teaching first-year music theory and ear-training; teaching a one-semester elective course in an area of the instructor’s expertise; and advising senior theses, as necessary.
