We seek a dynamic scholar-teacher to join our faculty.

-a strong commitment to music theory pedagogy and successful university-level teaching experience;
-an emerging or established record of scholarly productivity, including conference presentations and publications;
-demonstrated ability to teach effectively at multiple levels, including in the undergraduate core; in junior- and senior-level electives; in courses for graduate performers, conductors, and composers; and in specialized seminars for Master’s students in music theory.

-research specialization(s) that would add to those of our current music theory faculty;
-demonstrated success teaching a variety of subjects such as aural skills, counterpoint, undergraduate core theory, 20th- and 21st-century techniques, Schenkerian analysis, and keyboard skills.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities are likely to include parts of the undergraduate music theory and aural skills cores, specialized courses for Master’s students majoring in music theory, and analysis courses for Master’s and Doctoral students throughout the college.
