Position: Lecturer of Music Theory and Aural Skills

General Information:

The Department of Music in the College of Arts and Communication seeks a Lecturer of Music Theory and Aural Skills. This position will begin August 2019. This is a one-year, .85 FTE position, with possibility for renewal.


Minimum Qualifications:
> Master\\\\\\\'s Degree

Desired Qualifications:
> ABD or Terminal Degree (Ph.D. or Equivalent)
> Emphasis in Music Theory or Composition
> Undergraduate college level teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
> Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
> Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include: teaching first-year undergraduate courses in music theory and aural skills. Additional teaching assignments may be chosen from courses related to the successful candidate’s interests and background.
