Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory

Qualifications:

We seek candidates with skill and enthusiasm for teaching both major and non-major music students in an undergraduate liberal arts learning environment. The successful candidate will oversee a strong, well-rounded curriculum in harmony and counterpoint, advanced analytical techniques, musicianship training and aural skills, etc. A secondary area in composition, jazz studies, music perception and cognition, or ability to contribute to a multi-disciplinary field would be welcome. Active participation in a very collaborative department and robust commitment to the liberal arts are expected. Evidence of successful college-level teaching should be demonstrated; completion of Ph.D. is required for consideration.
