Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory

General Information:

Assistant Professor of Music Theory (full-time, tenure track). Starting Date: September 1, 2008.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in music theory by the time of appointment, college teaching experience, a strong commitment to research and publication, and potential for national and international achievement as a scholar.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, music analysis and special topics in the area of the candidate’s expertise; assist with graduate program, including thesis advisement and service on graduate committees; maintain an active research profile commensurate with standards of a research university.

Salary Range: commensurate with qualifications and experience
