Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Music

General Information:

Austin College seeks applications for a tenure-track position in music theory for Fall 2008.

Qualifications:

A.B.D. required, completed doctorate preferred. Evidence of strong classroom and studio teaching, with the ability to work closely with students in a liberal arts setting. Experience with computer technology desirable

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Sequential courses in undergraduate music theory as well as related upper-level courses as interest, experience, and demand allow, including Form and Analysis, Counterpoint, Post-Tonal Theory, and Composition. Studio teaching for both majors and non-majors required. Assignments in college-wide programs as well (Freshman seminar and January Term).

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
