Job Description/Responsibilities:

WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY – Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition, full-time, tenure-track position effective August 2008. Individual will teach undergraduate theory, ear-training and sight-singing courses. Requirements: completed doctorate in composition; significant college teaching experience; thorough knowledge of undergraduate theory and familiarity with representative literature from all periods of music; ability in the area of aural perception skills and keyboard facility to illustrate theoretical concepts and to conduct ear-training classes; a history of professional performances, commissions, and recordings. Preference will be given to candidates whose areas of specialty complement those of the current faculty and who have excellent organizational, computer, and networking skills.
