The Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University announces a faculty vacancy beginning August 2008.

Qualifications:

Doctorate in music theory. ABD (coursework completed) required for application. Doctorate required for tenure consideration. Evidence of successful college level teaching experience a necessity.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Music Theorist to teach undergraduate and graduate music theory/aural skills courses including computer-assisted instruction. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue an active research agenda and participate fully in the responsibilities of faculty membership (student advisement, curriculum development, service activities).

Salary Range: Salary and rank (Assistant professor, Associate Professor) commensurate with experience and educational preparation
