Position: Assistant Professor

General Information:

Assistant Professor; nine-month tenure-track appointment beginning Fall Semester, August 1, 2008. Salary and fringe benefits are competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Music Theory or Music Theory/Composition. Demonstrated success in college-level teaching required, with a strong commitment to research and publication. Experience with current technology is strongly desired.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and graduate music theory courses for music majors/minors. Participate in undergraduate/graduate advising, graduate thesis advising, assisting with the graduate program, and maintaining an active research profile. Teach other classes as determined by the needs of the program and the qualifications and interests of the successful candidate. Creative/scholarly activity, and service contributions appropriate for a university faculty member.
