Position: Assistant Professor

General Information:

Tenure-Track, beginning August 15, 2011.

Qualifications:

Doctorate or ABD in Music Theory or Composition required, earned doctorate preferred. Successful teaching experience in college-level music theory, and demonstrable accomplishment as a scholar and/or composer.


Job Description/Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the music theory curriculum and curricular development; teach undergraduate courses in music theory and aural training, and graduate and undergraduate analysis; supervise graduate analysis and thesis projects; assist in coordinating the use of technology in the department. Other duties such as teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in composition, orchestration, arranging, counterpoint, electronic music, or research may be assigned depending upon the candidate’s qualifications and departmental need.

Salary Range: $48,000 - $52,000; commensurate with experience
