Position: Assistant/Associate Professor

General Information:

Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment in Music Theory at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Review of applications begins immediately. Those received by Dec. 1, 2011 will be given full consideration. Interviews to be scheduled early 2012. Appointment starts August 2012 (initial 3-year tenure-track appointment).


Qualifications:

The Schulich School of Music of McGill University is Canada’s leading university-based program for the training of professional composers and performers, and for humanities-based and scientific-technological research in music and sound. We seek individuals with an international profile in musical creation, performance, or research who will maintain a high level of professional activity in the field and are able to teach and supervise students in all university degree and diploma programs through to the doctoral level.


Job Description/Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will have superior musicianship and be comfortable teaching the full range of core undergraduate classes, as well as undergraduate and graduate offerings in his or her own area of specialization. We are open to all areas of research specialization.


Salary Range: Salary is negotiable, according to qualifications and experience.
