Position: Academic Staff Lecturer in Music Theory and Aural Skills

General Information:

Terms of Appointment: Full-Time, one-year, Academic Year 2012-13

Starting Date: September 1, 2012

Qualifications:

Masters in Music Theory and/or Composition, minimum. Evidence of successful teaching in music theory and/or aural skills at the undergraduate level expected. Doctorate in Music Theory and/or Composition and evidence of successful teaching in composition at the undergraduate level preferred.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach music theory and aural skills in the music major core curriculum and music theory for non-music majors. Other assignments may include composition, form and analysis, and instrumentation. Additional teaching responsibilities possible based on candidate’s strengths and Department needs.
