Position: Full-Time, Tenure-Track Position in Music Theory

General Information:

Stetson University seeks a vibrant, outstanding musician and scholar for a full-time, tenure-track position as an assistant professor of Music Theory.

Qualifications:

Doctorate is required by the time of appointment and the candidate must possess a breadth of knowledge necessary to teach all levels of undergraduate music theory. We seek candidates who are passionate about undergraduate education, displaying proven excellence in classroom teaching along with accomplished keyboard skills and clear evidence indicating promise for scholarly contributions to the field of music theory. Strong administrative and organizational abilities are required.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The position involves teaching core courses and advanced topics in all levels of undergraduate music theory, aural training, keyboard, counterpoint, and additional assignments commensurate with the candidate's expertise. Essential tasks require coordinating several sections of classes taught by multiple faculty and the continuing advancement of a unified music theory curriculum. Further responsibilities include productive collaboration with faculty, administration, and other university areas, academic advising, and school and university service.

Salary Range: Salary is competitive.
