Position: Lecturer

General Information:

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music invites applications for the following position:

Lecturer—Music Theory: One-year appointment beginning August 14, 2006.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in music theory or completion of degree by May 2007 required. Evidence of successful teaching at the college/university level. Preference will be given to candidates with background in tonal music, 19th-century chromaticism, and/or Schenkerian analysis. Publications are desirable as well as potential for future research and publication in music theory.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach/coordinate sophomore theory program, and teach undergraduate and graduate level theory courses, and work in a collegial fashion with faculty, staff, students, and administration.
