Position: Assistant/Associate Professor in Music

General Information:

The University of Virginia's College at Wise is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in Music starting with the Fall 2014 semester. Candidates with training in music theory and piano performance are preferred. Other specialties in music will be considered.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a completed Ph.D. or D.M.A. in Music by August 2014. Candidates should be committed to teaching in an undergraduate music major program based in the liberal arts.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in music theory, aural skills, applied piano, and additional courses based on the candidate's strengths; full participation in department meetings; and administration of the music theory/aural skills placement examination. Appointment includes the expectation of university service and scholarship.
