Position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music, Music Theory

Qualifications:

Strong keyboard and aural skills are essential. Prior college-level teaching experience is strongly preferred, as is a doctorate or ABD in Theory and/or Composition by job start date.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should be able to teach undergraduate written theory and aural skills at all levels. Some teaching in a secondary area, or in other theory courses outside the undergraduate core (e.g., counterpoint, orchestration, form and analysis, fundamentals), might also be possible, depending upon departmental needs and the candidate's areas of expertise.
