Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory, tenure track

Appointment effective August 2015.

Qualifications:

Completed doctorate in music theory at time of appointment and university-level teaching experience are required. A record of scholarly publication and ongoing research is preferred.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
Teach courses from among current undergraduate and graduate music theory offerings and/or in the candidate's area of expertise. Maintain an active agenda of research and publication in the field of music theory. Participate in activities related to the academic mission of the university, including service on committees, student advising, and administration of area exams.

The Florida State University is a comprehensive, national graduate research university of 16 colleges and schools with 2,300 faculty serving a student body of more than 41,000 students. The College of Music, with 90 faculty, 40 support staff, and 1,150 students, offers a wide range of degrees in music, baccalaureate through doctorate. Salary Range: Competitive.
