Position: Assistant Professor

General Information:

The Department of Music Theory and Composition, Don Wright Faculty of Music, The University of Western Ontario invites applications for a probationary (tenure-track) appointment in music theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2007.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a completed PhD, with specialization in music theory, when the appointment begins. The successful candidate will have established a research program that is suitable for direction of dissertations at the PhD level. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of skill in teaching, and will be expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses (including large-enrolment courses) and graduate courses, supervise students in the MA and PhD programs, and maintain an active program of research. We are looking for a scholar with broad interests, versatility, and a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research.
