Position: Assistant Professor

General Information:

Nine-month, tenure-track, beginning August 16, 2015

Qualifications:

Doctorate preferred, ABD considered. Extensive evidence of achievement in music theory required. The successful candidate will have the equivalent of at least 6 semesters’ full-time teaching experience at the Collegiate or University level. Also in evidence will be a record of research/creative activity that demonstrates potential for a significant contribution to the field.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Full-time, tenure-track, benefits-eligible position beginning August 16, 2015. The primary assignment is to teach a full range of undergraduate and graduate music theory courses for music majors and to provide leadership within the music theory program. Additional teaching responsibilities will include serving on graduate students’ committees and advising DMA research projects. Other duties might be assigned. Ability to teach in additional areas, especially composition, music technology, and/or general studies, is valued. Participation in School and College committees is expected of all faculty members.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with background and experience.
