General Information:

The Department of Music at Tufts University announces a one-semester, Spring 2015, part-time position.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates with broad interests and a strong commitment to teaching in an imaginative and compelling manner. Ph.D. or ABD in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and/or Educational Psychology (or other closely related discipline) and teaching experience required. Research interests and accomplishments in topics such as rhythm and timing, auditory perception, timing in disease rehabilitation, and others are highly desired.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Psychology of Music, intended for undergraduate pre-major liberal arts students, students concentrating in music, psychology or cognitive brain science, and other qualified students. In this course students examine a wide range of topics including music perception; music cognition; music aesthetics; music and emotions; the influence of music on human behavior; the nature and measurement of musical abilities; music education and child development; and more.
