Position: Assistant Professor in Music Theory

General Information:

Position Description: Full-time, nine month, tenure accruing faculty position.
Date of Expected Hire: August 16, 2017.
Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

Doctorate preferred; ABD required. Previous teaching experience in higher education preferred. Equivalent professional experience considered.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The University of Florida School of Music, College of the Arts, invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Music Theory.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate theory and aural skills sequence, instrumental/vocal arranging, form and analysis, a graduate seminar, and perform other duties as assigned. Preference will be given to candidates with research specialty in contemporary music. Secondary areas of expertise that are desirable include electroacoustic music, entrepreneurship, music business, popular music, new music ensemble, and/or performance.

Salary Range: competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience
