Terminal degree in theory or composition is required (Ph.D. in theory is preferred).

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The George Mason University School of Music, within the College of Visual and Performing Arts, is seeking a qualified candidate for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Music Theory. This is a nine-month, tenure-track appointment. Responsibilities:

Applicants should be prepared to teach courses and develop curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels; direct graduate research projects, including doctoral dissertations; and pursue an active research agenda. Applicants with diverse interests and methodologies in teaching and research encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience.
