Position: Assistant Professor, tenure track or Associate Professor tenure track/tenured

Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in music theory. College/university teaching experience preferred. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory. Kowledge/experience in the application of technology to the teaching of music theory and aural and keyboard skills.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, aural and keyboard skills, and related areas. Maintain an active research agenda including presentation at professional conferences and publication in scholarly journals. Supervise graduate teaching assistants. Serve on graduate and departmental committees. Advise in the ongoing acquisition of technological hardware and software.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

The UNCG School of Music, a member of NASM since 1938, is the only institution in North Carolina offering comprehensive degrees in music and music education from the baccalaureate through the doctorate, including a B.A. in music and an M.M. in music theory.
