Position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory

General Information:

Stetson University seeks a vibrant, outstanding musician and scholar for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track position as a visiting assistant professor of Music Theory, beginning August 15, 2017.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Music Theory is preferred. The candidate must possess a breadth of knowledge necessary to teach all levels of undergraduate music theory, aural skills, and keyboard. We seek candidates who are passionate about undergraduate education, displaying proven excellence in classroom teaching. Excellence in theory pedagogy is highly valued.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will enhance the School of Music\\\'s high standards of excellence in academics and performance and prepare undergraduate students for continued placement in acclaimed graduate programs and successful professional careers.

The position involves teaching core courses in all levels of undergraduate music theory, aural training, and keyboard. The candidate will teach coordinated courses with other theory faculty, and is expected to maintain appropriate office hours and availability to students.

Candidates should demonstrate a passion for the highest quality of teaching, combined with the ability to perform at the highest artistic levels. Salary Range: Salary is competitive.
