Position: Assistant Professor (Composition/Theory)

Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in composition. Significant body of creative work. Previous successful college-level teaching experience highly desirable, especially in a culturally diverse, urban setting.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach composition tutorials and undergraduate and graduate courses in theory and analysis. Develop and maintain a high profile as a composer and educator. Work closely with other composition faculty in reviewing applications for admission to the composition programs, and planning and implementation of Composers Forum, student composer concerts, and the composer-in-residence program. The position may also involve administrative duties related to departmental advising.
