Position: Assistant Professor

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Music Theory required. Expertise in Schenkerian analysis, late 19th Century chromaticism, and related topics preferred. Keyboard skills preferred. College teaching experience strongly preferred.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory. Recruit outstanding graduate students in music theory. Serve on graduate committees as needed. Research: Establish/maintain a program of outstanding scholarly productivity in the field of music theory and analysis which contributes to the national/international discussions of the discipline. Service: Serve on faculty committees (School, College, and University); serve in professional organizations (SMT, CMS, etc.); work in a collegial fashion with faculty, staff, students, and administration. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Music.
