Position: Two-Tear Visiting Faculty in Music Composition/Theory

General Information:

The Department of Music at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, invites applications for a two-year visiting faculty position in Music Composition/Theory beginning Fall 2019.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities include two one-semester advanced theory, analysis, and/or musicianship courses; a one-semester composition course; two one-semester elective courses in an area of the instructor’s expertise; and supervision of yearlong senior theses, as necessary.  The committee welcomes applications demonstrating experience with notation-based music and/or electronic media as part of the composition portfolio. Preference will be given to the applicant who, in addition to being committed to achieving excellence as a teacher, has experience as a practicing artist. Applicants should have their DMA or Ph.D. in hand by October 1, 2019.
