Position: Assistant Professor Adjunct of Music Analysis and Musicianship

General Information:

Assistant Professor Adjunct of Music Analysis and Musicianship, beginning July 1, 2019 (earliest) with an initial appointment of three years, renewable with review during the penultimate year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

PhD in music theory or DMA with expertise in analysis, or equivalent at time of hire. Scholarly interests that complement existing faculty strengths. Exceptional skill in the classroom instruction of aspiring professional musicians. Demonstrable creativity and requisite performance fluency in the teaching of music analysis and aural skills.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Design and teach core courses in analysis and musicianship and advanced electives on music-analytic topics; maintain a professional profile that reflects the career of a distinguished scholar/teacher; contribute to all facets of the Analysis and Musicianship area and the School of Music, including committee service, student advising, and instruction and/or thesis review within the academic component of the Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program.
