Job Description/Responsibilities:

Hope College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Music, to begin in August 2020. Rank is open. The successful candidate must be capable of teaching all courses in the theory sequence of the music major curriculum; and, when the need arises, be able to teach advanced, upper-level theory courses. She/he will be expected to teach other core music courses in addition to theory. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified to teach applied music in a studio setting. We seek to recruit a colleague who will engage vigorously in scholarly/creative work, and who will build and maintain a strong regional/national professional profile.

The successful candidate will be expected to incorporate appropriate technology into courses, and must therefore possess a working knowledge of software applications in notation, aural skills, and analysis. Our future colleague will assist the department in refining the curricular content and requirements appropriate to the department\'s majors.
