Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University seeks a passionate educator and an extraordinary musician to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor of Music Theory beginning July 1, 2020. The appointed faculty member will be a member of Peabody’s Department of Music Theory, Ear Training, and Keyboard Skills. Familiarity with a range of pedagogical approaches is required.

Job responsibilities include:

Working as part of a team to teach all levels of core ear training within our undergraduate and graduate review curricula, advanced electives in musicianship techniques
Serving on departmental, school, and university committees
Participating in departmental reviews and curriculum development
Maintaining an active profile of scholarship, composition, and/or performance
