Institution: Dallas Baptist University

Position: Assistant Professor

Qualifications:

The candidate should hold a PhD in Music Theory or a PhD/DMA in Composition. We seek a candidate with collegiate-level teaching experience in Music Theory and Aural Skills as well as experience in teaching classical composition, song writing, and possibly recording including Pro-Tools © instruction. The department welcomes applications from a broad range of artists, including composer-performers and composers/arrangers working with interdisciplinary approaches incorporating Jazz, Rock, and other Contemporary genres. As a Christian University, DBU expects that faculty are committed Christians and a member of a Baptist church.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities will include core music theory and aural skills, upper-level music theory, composition, beginning and advanced song writing and possibly recording courses in the future. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, advising, and service to the department and to the university.
