Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory

General Information:

Brandon University’s School of Music invites applications for a tenure-track position in Music Theory (area of research open) at the rank of Assistant Professor (subject to budgetary approval).

Start Date: August 1, 2020 (flexible)

Qualifications:

A PhD in Music Theory is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered. Successful experience teaching core music theory courses at the post-secondary level is an asset.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate core music theory courses, undergraduate aural and keyboard skills courses, upper years courses in music theory, as well as graduate level theory coursework. Other teaching may be assigned in areas relevant to the successful candidate’s interests and expertise.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
